So I try out different tricks and methods to get over various aspects of my mental health problems. Most of the advice posts I’ve made have been fine tuned in that way.
I saw a Tumblr post recently where the person started a habit where if they feel the ADHD laze coming in, they would count down from 3 in their head and just do the thing.
I tried it for a few things today and it’s been working well so far; did a few things I’ve been avoiding.
Analytical chemistry got me so stressed out I forgot about updating already. Thanks God the library has a book explaining it clearly and now things are less agitated in my brain !!
i genuinely hope anyone ages 13-15 on this website (or, god forbid, younger) stays safe and keeps their private information secure and really private
please, if you’re really young on tumblr, try not to get swept up in the discourse and the tremendous amount of arguing with strangers that goes on here. i know you probably feel mature for your age but this website, like, really psychologically affects youth, and i encourage you to be cautious about your interactions with people on here
please, kiddos, stay safe
additionally, for my young, non-adult followers,
depression memes about wanting to die aren’t a healthy coping mechanism and can lead to worsening symptoms of your own mental health if overindulged in
you are not garbage. or trash. i know these terms are popular on here, but you shouldn’t be calling yourself that. you have everything you need inside of you to become your best self, even if it’s hard to see that
seriously, really don’t trust adults who want to date you. don’t trust adults who call you hot, flirt with you, ask you sexual questions, or ask you for nudes. (that last one is VERY illegal, also, please get help from a trusted non-creepy adult if this happens to you)
the opinions of complete strangers who aren’t interacting with you typically aren’t worth it. move on, use the block button. it’s not worth engaging with people who are going to make you feel awful or unsafe
take breaks from tumblr if it’s getting really stressful for you. talk to friends if you’ve got em, play a videogame or do whatever it is that can take your mind off the massive amounts of Hell on this website
recovery is good. it’s really, really good. if you’re having mental health issues, please seek out help if you can, or ask a trusted adult or friend for guidance. you are not alone. don’t let this website make you feel like you are
do you have any idea how hard it is to find trans safe spaces without finding a bunch of tucutes flaunting their tits and saying you DON’T need dysphoria to be trans when you really do?
do you have any idea how difficult it is to find groups with LGBTQ+ people without seeing a cishet girl calling herself a ‘’demisexual spacesexual plantsexual soft space boi’’ screaming about how ‘’oppressed’’ she is?
do you have any idea how difficult it is to come out as trans without being called a ‘’soft boi uwu’’ or a ‘’slaying queen’’?
do you have literally any idea how difficult it is to find a group of people who have the same mental illness/disorder without seeing a person saying they have ADD, ADHD, autism, depression,PTSD, schizophrenia just because a buzzfeed quiz told them they do?
can we just collectively agree as a generation that we aren’t going to care if each other’s houses are clean when we visit bc im gettin real sick of the “the house has to be spotless or our guests will judge us” deal my parents got goin on
none of us in this generation is going to be able to afford a house.
you ever have 8,045 bad mental health days in a row
you ever have 8,046 bad mental health days in a row
thats 22 years of bad mental health are you okay
you ever have 8,050 bad mental health days in a row
They’re deactivated now and I really hope they are okay, but my nihilism is telling me something else. :(
nah i just changed urls a few times. i came out and transitioned, graduated college, and got an amazing girlfriend who lights up my life. i had to delete the queued update to this post that said 8400 days for my 23rd birthday because i’m in a really good place right now.
to everyone struggling: it really does get better.
